От нигерийского программиста: I am Mr Hannatu Raji. a computer scientist working with central bank of Nigeria.I just started work with C.B.N. and I came across your file which was marked X and your released disk painted RED, I took time to study it and found out that you have paid VIRTUALLY all fees and but the fund was not released to you.
The most annoying thing is that they won't tell you the truth that on no account will they ever release the fund to you, instead they allow you spend money unnecessarily,I do not intend to work here all the days of my life, I can release this fund to you if you can certify me of my security
etc. etc.

Особого внимания заслуживает выражение "computer scientist".

Alex Tabarrok -- My best guess is that [HDMI cable pricing] is an unusually strong version of the hidden fee model of Laibson and Gabaix. In that model, firms overprice one aspect of service--such as a hotel charging exorbitant rates for telephone service--as an idiot tax. Crucially, the idiot tax is matched by an IQ-subsidy; the price of the hotel room is lower than it would be without the idiot tax--so the idiots don't know to shop elsewhere and the high-IQ types are, in fact, drawn to stores with an idiot tax. Thus, buy your blu-ray player at places such as Best Buy which sell a lot of expensive cable as well as massively overpriced extended warranties.

Обозначение x >> y по-русски читается "много больше". На мой взгляд, довольно невыразительно. А вот по-английски оно читается "much, much bigger", причем слова much-much произносятся одновременно с рисованием уголков.

Bloomberg Top -- Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi, who came to Italy with a retinue of 40 female bodyguards and demanded to meet 700 of the country’s most important women, called for a feminist uprising and condemned the Arab World for treating women like “furniture.”
