1. Rep. Mark Foley's (Republican) signature achievement came just two months ago amid smiles and handshakes, capped by a splashy bill-signing ceremony in the White House. After years of prodding and maneuvering, Foley saw final passage of his pet project: a bill designed to get tough on sexual predators.

2. In a three-sentence public statement Friday, Foley said it was an honor to serve in Congress for 12 years. He didn't offer a reason for his resignation. Foley didn't mention the e-mails to the boy--in which he asked the boy for a photo--or to a series of sexually suggestive instant messages he wrote to male pages that were revealed by ABC News on Friday (pages are high school students who serve mainly as messengers for lawmakers on Capitol Hill).
