CHICAGO HEIGHTS -- Lau: "It was like a taupe and I was very happy with it. It went well with the red brick and the black shutters. It looked nice."
Lau says the original can of Glidden paint applied as the appropriate color, but it didn't stay that way for long.
Lau: "We just thought it was the sun, you know and the reflection from the ground, or the asphalt or whatever."
Then came the realization.
Lau: "I mean there comes a point where you're driving down the street and you know it's not a reflection from the ground. It's purple."
