Parents had no idea of the early arrival, so no adults were waiting at the stop. Even so, the driver let the kids off along the busy road.

"The procedure that's outlined in our transportation manual is that bus drivers may drop off pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students at the end of the day at the regular bus stops along with other students," district spokesman Charles Herndon said. "They are not required to stay and wait for parents or guardians before dropping off their students."

The school system has since made special arrangements for Anthony's bus route such that if the bus arrives early, and no parents are waiting, the bus driver will return the kids to school.

But that's too little, too late for Silvestri. "I don't trust them," Silvestri said. "I have lost my confidence in them to protect my child."

Not in Massachusets, they don't!!! And Im'not talking just about preK and K. First through the fitfth graders will NOT be dropped off if nobody is standing outside and waiting for them.
