Clients often impose constraints on their investment managers. These constraints address concerns about industry concentration, credit ratings, leverage, short sale limitations, and the use of derivatives. In addition, constraints may result from regulations, tax, ethical or moral considerations. These constraints may hamper efforts to accomplish investment objectives.
