We take water for granted. We use it every day in many ways, but we forget that water does have some unusual properties. The H₂O molecule is the only molecule that can be found in all three stages (gas, liquid, solid) at normal temperatures found on Earth. When it is liquid we call it water. When it is solid we call it ice. When it is gas we call it water vapor, but water vapor is often misunderstood. Water vapor is always invisible. Steam is not water vapor because it is visible.
