In the midst of the fight, someone pulled a fire alarm and the school was evacuated. In short order, Rogers said, "an enormous police presence was called in."
"The public school officials and the police officers who responded tried to get the kids back into the school," he said. "There were some minor skirmishes trying to ket the kids back in the school. It was subsequently decided .... to try to dismiss the kids and just get them out of the area, since it was Friday."
School officials are hoping for a return to normalcy on Monday.
