AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - The Dutch Party for Animals, which entered parliament for the first time last November, has forbidden the laying of poison to deal with a mouse infestation in its offices, a newspaper reported Wednesday.

The party, which campaigns for animal rights and compassionate farming, will only allow humane traps in the parliament wing where its offices are housed, allowing trapped mice to be released unharmed, the daily De Telegraaf reported.

The chief problem is President Bush's misplaced funding priorities at NASA, the space agency that doesn't just launch rockets but, along with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, also maintains a series of satellites and other sensors to monitor global climate and weather patterns. The network is essential to detecting and responding to the effects of global warming and other climate phenomena. But Mr. Bush, without significantly increasing NASA's budget, has insisted that it push ahead with plans to establish a human presence on the moon and assume the enormous job of preparing for a manned mission to Mars. Меня удивляет, чтобы не сказать разочаровывает, наша учительница флейты. В ней совершенно нету того доминирования, безумия и припадочности, которые мы привыкли ожидать от серьезного педагога, тем более от музыканта. Она ничего не добивается. Давай, мол, сыграем вот это. Да, а что это вот тут нарисовано? А как вот это называется? А как пишется? А по-русски как? А умеешь считать до ста? А давай рисовать карандашами? А вот там птичка пролетела. У четырехлетнего ребенка возникают в голове и комбинаторно ветвятся всевозможные мысли; учительница их все тщательно извлекает, перебирает и исследует, вместо того, чтобы твердить "играй... играй... играй..." -- как это делаю я, в стиле персонажа известного клипа. В результате она задает нам своими занятиями некоторую общую программу, но скорость движения по ней, похоже, зависит только от меня лично.
