The idea is to encourage Chinese companies to locate here and to help small and medium-sized local firms tap the Chinese market, Daley said.
"The primary job of this office will be to help Chinese companies expand into the Chicago market by providing them with a business-friendly bridge and practical assistance," the mayor said at a City Hall news conference. "By helping more Chinese companies locate in Chicago, we believe we can create thousands of good jobs in the years ahead."
