1. Be a good listener. When your child seems upset (teary, remote, moody) talk, question and listen. Let your son know that you understand how difficult it is to sit on the sidelines. Seloover, of Elgin, were asleep when their child found a way out of their home located near Larkin Avenue and South Dubois Avenue, walking nearly two blocks before she was spotted near Dubois and West Highland Avenue at about 6:30 a.m.
As it looks right now, the parents were asleep and didn't realize the child was missing," Smith said. "Once the parents realized the child was missing they notified the police department, and we notified them to let them know we had their child."
