На моём фене для волос есть трехпозиционный выключатель (off, low, high), и переключатель напряжения 110/220V. K последнему изнутри никакие провода не подключены, однако при выборе 220V он физически упирается в первый, и не позволяет переставить его в положение high.

Это называется triple E: Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
