Ms. Bartz and five other female executives who participated in a Wall Street Journal panel discussion earlier this month (see transcript in today's Women to Watch section [удачное название секции!!]) said they have been disheartened to hear how many young women believe a leadership job will be soul-deadening or ruin their chances for personal happiness.
The women acknowledged having to work long hours, suffering jet lag from constant travel and having to meet multiple demands on their time. And they listed their sacrifices. Frances Aldrich Sevilla-Sacasa, president of U.S.Trust, said she has missed many of her three kids school events and several wedding anniversaries.
