Chicago Tribune -- When Judge John Kirby asked for a number issued by state officials to practicing lawyers, Robitis admitted he wasn't an attorney.

Kirby immediately charged Robitis with criminal contempt of court and took him into custody in lieu of $75,000 bail. The judge later sentenced him to six months in jail. In the meantime, state prosecutors charged Robitis with impersonating a lawyer in four other court cases, between July 2006 and January 2007. The cases were a mix of criminal and civil matters. One client paid him $150 for his work, according to the state's attorney's office.

The two-year prison term handed down Monday by Criminal Court Judge Lon Schultz will run concurrent with the six-month sentence for criminal contempt.
