Быстрый поиск в гугле показывает, что WP не выдумывает и за запретом действительно стоит NFL, National Football League. Но черт побери, Холмс, почему??? NFL теряет деньги из-за того, что люди делают ставки о результатах футбольных матчей?.. Много думал, так и не понял.

В смысле, в случае возникновения этих печальных явлений люди перестанут интересоваться футболом? Не вижу, почему. Наоборот, захотят лично все видеть, казалось бы.

What, games with fixed results ? A league is a business enterprise,
and its revenue depends on reputation (especially advertizing one).
In last couple of years the noise about how clean professional sport is was getting lowder (all those gamblings related to Gretzky wife, etc )
