Chicago Tribune -- Тhe teen was charged as a juvenile with unlawful possession of a weapon, reckless conduct and unlawful possession of an explosive device after a "chemical improvised device" exploded in a hallway, injuring several people, officials said.
The charge for unlawful possession of an explosive device is the most serious and carries a 4- to 15-year prison term for adults. But if convicted, the 15-year-old would serve a maximum sentence of 6 years because state law only allows convicted juvenile offenders to be held in detention facilities until age 21, said Chuck Pelkie, a spokesman for the Will County state's attorney's office.
CBS2 -- The school reported that 10 people – nine students and one staff member – were taken to hospitals as a precaution, but nobody was seriously injured. But Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet said the figures were even worse, reporting 13 victims from the school.
