birdwatcherНасколько я понимаю, наш кандидат на иллинойских губернаторских выборах - Джим Обервайс. Смотрите-ка:
-I believe the taxpayers of Illinois are over burdened by taxes, fees and debt, and that they can ill afford huge new spending programs.
-I do not believe government has the authority to force a business person to take actions which violate his or her religious principles.
-Parents deserve to have a choice in the marketplace among a full range of public and private options. I support school choice vouchers for parents to choose.
-Disappointing results in public education may not be unrelated to education bureaucrats debating equalizing education inputs rather than maximizing system outputs, that is well educated school children.
-Asking state government to play an increasing role in early-child education when it is already failing in so many ways in kindergarten through twelfth grade is unwise.
- Adult stem cell and umbilical cell research should find adequate funding in the private medical research venture capital market.
- Oberweis, whose sister-in-law, Jill, was murdered in 1993, believes semiautomatic assault weapons should be legal and favors a "personal protection law" allowing trained and qualified citizens to carry a concealed weapon.
Проблемы:
-Drug dealers will find plenty of available prison space in an Oberweis Administration (по этому поводу все кандидаты дали один и тот же шизофренический ответ: лечить покупателей, сажать продавцов).
-I believe that Illinois should adopt parental notification and/or parental consent legislation that meet the test of judicial review. I also believe that reasonable people on both sides of the abortion issue should be able to reach an agreement banning partial birth abortion.
Перевешивают ли эти проблемы то полезное, что он сказал? Т.е. голосовать за него, или не голосовать ни за кого? Вопрос вопросов.

Oberweis, 59, of Aurora, graduated from Marmion Military Academy, earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and taught math and science at an Aurora junior high school. He graduated from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business with a master's degree in business administration.

Date: 2006-03-10 07:23 pm (UTC)А про иммигрантов... Я и говорю, что он считает рекламу слишком жесткой, а не постановку вопроса. Я это понимаю как "думать-то я и сейчас так думаю, но выносить это в рекламу было ошибкой."
