В каком смысле ?

Ветер вообще очень существеннен для ледовой обстановки. То нагонит льда, то разгонит.

Видите, фотография совсем другого ледокола, вообще без парусов, и написано, что ветер нужен для того, чтобы мимо него быстрее проплывал лед.
