Сегодня проблему освещает msn.com: "He purchased it used from New Jersey and it came with an electronic ignition key. But recently, the key was stolen. So he did what many people do -- he called AAA. "They said because of the kind of car it is, we will have to have it towed to the dealer," Harwood said. The dealer in Maryland told him it didn't have any spares, and the key would have to be ordered from a dealer in New Jersey and shipped. When the keys came, the time and expense started to add up. "They had to reprogram the CPU in the car to match the new key so each of the keys was $100," Harwood said. "The external door lock was $100 and it was another $100 to reprogram the CPU so that's $400 plus $50 to tow the car."

"AAA wants a law that would require vehicle manufactures to make key information available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so that drivers can easily get replacement keys made and at a reasonable price".
