Check out the NSA’s careers section, in particular their Computer Science Development Program for recent CS grads where they get rotating assignments and explicit classroom training (and pay that can be as much as $97,33 per year (plus benefits!)). It is hard to imagine a better opportunity to start a career in Big Data than this three-year program.

У меня одноклассник пошёл в Высшую школу КГБ учиться, криптография, то-сё. Подал в отставку в тридцать пять подполковником, издательский бизнес в Москве, ещё какие-то интересы. Молодец, я считаю. Из нашего класса точно самый успешный.
