CHICAGO TRIBUNE -- Washington said the student services director asked how many siblings the teen had and by how many fathers. The director filled out the application during the interview, Washington said, and a note in the margin reads "3 + 1 student. All have different fathers."

At that point, Washington said she became frustrated with the line of questioning and told her granddaughter to leave the room. "I thought that was totally out of order," Washington said. "How many children her mother has, has nothing to do with the school."
