It's not cool at all. The sad reality is, in 40 or so years French will be an ethnic minority in France.

"Good" and "bad" are always subjective. So you can only say what is good or bad for you; when you are talking about goodness or badness for other people, you are making presumptions regarding their state of mind.

Some people actually like to be slaves. Who am I to say that this is bad for them?

какая-то бессмысленная статья у Льюиса, мне не понравилось. парадоксально иллюстрировать статью про неправильную жизнь французов историей про, как он не купил какое-то гадкое фабричное печенье в Англии. уж с кондитерскими изделиями-то во Франции все хорошо, гораздо лучше, чем у капиталистических англо-саксонцев ;) и что эффективны они только в бездельи просто вранье...
