Associated Press (SEYMOUR, Wis.) -- Caren Ann Burke, 49, filed a petition Aug. 23 to change her name at Caren Ann bin Laden. She listed the reason as "divorce from Rory S. Burke."

When reached at her home Friday by The Associated Press, she said twice, "My number is unpublished and unlisted," and hung up.

She also declined to explain to The Post-Crescent of Appleton.

"I don't have to explain that to a reporter. It is really none of your business," she told the newspaper Thursday. "At this point, it is a private matter."

The sources reportedly said the ring has been referred to as "D.C. Fems" -- a play on the acronym for the city's Fire and Emergency Medical Services department.

Investigators are looking into whether female emergency medical technicians performed sex acts for money on men.

Что я видел

Ой, как интересно! Купили Что я видел Бориса Житкова (1939).



Обложка, конечнo, страхолюдная, церковный шрифт по смыслу просто замечательно подходит, внутри качество набора соответствующее, картинки другие неизвестно какие, но главное, мне показалось, книга какая-то тоненькая, невнушительная. Моя-то ленинградская была по формату примерно как том энциклопедии -- ну, думаю, парадоксы памяти, я вырос, книги уменьшились.

Читаю вслух - что за чёрт, какая-то неразбериха. Из ниоткуда появляются действующие лица, в никуда исчезают сюжетные линии. В одном месте я даже подумал, что экземпляр бракованный, страницы не хватает. Мол, как мы установили в конце предыдущей главы, имеет место то-то и то-то -- а ничего такого не было.

Сверил по Мошкову -- ах вот оно что, половины текста, оказывается, нет вообще (см. сравнение оглавлений в полезнейшем сообществе 5razvorotov). Никаких комментариев по этому поводу, естественно, тоже нет. Да и какие тут могут быть комментарии? Адаптированное издание для детей?

Совершенно непонятно, почему. Это ведь даже не особенно смешно -- ну, выкинул кто-то огромные куски случайным образом, но ведь это каждый сможет, т.е. предыдущее объяснение ([1], [2]) не проходит...
