Редактор Birder's World - большой кьюарщик. Вот он хвастается:
You may recall that we published a profile of Fort Zachary Taylor State Park in Key West, Florida, in our February issue (Hotspot Near You No. 9, page 42) and a profile of the West Fairview Boat Launch in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in June (No. 17, page 54). Well, imagine our delight when a Loggerhead Kingbird, a flycatcher from the West Indies, was spotted at Fort Zach on March 8. It was the first time the bird had been recorded anywhere in the U.S.
And then consider our surprise when a Yellow-billed Loon, a species typically found patrolling the chilly waters of northern Alaska and northwestern Canada, appeared at the boat launch in Harrisburg in early May. It was the first confirmed sighting in the commonwealth ever. (You can see a high-quality photo of the loon, snapped by a 16-year-old reader, in our gallery of rare bird sightings on page 14 of this issue.)
Вот как здорово: опубликовали, где надо искать -- и что же? Именно там-то через год и нашли! А если подумать? По крайней мере один из нашедших -- их читатель в явном виде.
