That's natural selection in action. Evolving smarter and less aggressive humans -- too bad the younger idiot already reproduced. At least he won't breed anymore.

(By the way, if the lawnowner guy gets a smart lawyer, he'll walk. A standoff between a 69-yr old and a (clearly aggressive) youngster can be easily painted as a self-defense situation. The old guy only needs to say that he felt threatened and was afraid for his life.)

Oh, I see. So because a 23 year old guy says something like that he's an idiot that shouldn't be allowed to procreate. Good to know.

Just to clarify that: I didn't state he shouldn't procreate. But he was an idiot to say that. And naturally, the more aggressive people get shot like that, the less aggressive humankind becomes. Which is not necessarily a good thing, and that way is not necessarily the best way to reduce human aggressiveness.

I don't think he's an idiot for saying that. People tend to say stupid things in a heated argument (I know I'm guilty of saying stupid things, and I'm not at all aggressive) - that doesn't make them idiots. The only villain here is the guy who shot someone over a dog peeing on the lawn.

I'm not sure that 'stupid' is less pejorative than 'idiot', but if it makes you happy, I'll stand corrected: people who talk back like that to old farts with guns are either stupid, suicidal or bulletproof. This one was not bulletproof, apparently.

The fact that he issued a dare to a guy with a gun. That qualifies as terminal idiocy.

(What makes him aggressive is the fact that instead of apologizing and promising to keep his dog off the older guy's property in the future, and then leaving, pronto - like any decent person would do - he started to argue).
