One of the most arresting political cartoons I have seen in recent years was by my old friend Jim Morin, at the Miami Herald. It was of a long line of headstones, disappearing into the horizon to the right. Each headstone said "He died so HE did not die in vain," and each stone had an arrow pointing to the right.

I wonder. I was trying to find the actual cartoon you referenced and stumbled accross this web site/ Journal. By the way the Airline that sacrificed the goats referenced below is more proof that humans can kill animals whether to eat it or to appease the gods. Humans are carnivores.
